BEGINNER FRIENDLY

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

This relaxed, hands-on workshop is perfect for complete beginners and creative souls alike. Over the course of two hours, you’ll learn the fascinating process of transforming recycled sterling silver into a pendant with real character, something beautifully organic & shaped entirely by your own hands.

April will be by your side every step of the way, guiding you through the full journey from concept to completion.

  1. Design – Begin by exploring simple shapes and fluid, organic forms. April will help you sketch ideas and find inspiration for your pendant’s shape and style.

  2. Melt – Experience the magic of melting sterling silver, watching it soften and flow before your eyes. You’ll learn how to control the process safely and confidently, using April’s professional tools and torches.

  3. Shape – Once the silver has cooled, you’ll form your pendant, refining the outline and smoothing the edges to achieve your desired shape. Whether you prefer bold and textured or soft and subtle, you’ll make something completely unique.

  4. Refine – Using jeweller’s files and emery papers, you’ll shape and smooth your pendant, adding natural details and textures that give it life and personality.

  5. Finish – Choose how to finish your piece: polished to a soft shine, or left with a matte, organic feel.

  6. Attach – Fit your pendant with a jump ring or bail so it’s ready to wear.

Please note that in this class you’ll be making the pendant only. You’re welcome to bring along a favourite chain from home to try your pendant on, or you can add one later if you prefer. April also has a small selection of sterling silver chains available to purchase directly in the studio on the day.

You’re invited to bring your own scrap or mismatched silver to repurpose if you’d like to turn something sentimental into your new pendant. If not, all materials are provided.

This is a wonderfully tactile and rewarding workshop that lets you slow down, experiment, and connect with the making process. You’ll leave with a pendant that’s as individual as you are — full of story, texture, and meaning.
