ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
This friendly, beginner-focused class gives you the chance to experience real silversmithing in April’s welcoming Norfolk studio.
You’ll start by measuring and cutting your silver wire to size, before shaping it into a perfect circle using jeweller’s pliers and a mandrel. April will show you how to solder your ring closed using a jeweller’s torch, then file, sand, and smooth the join until it’s seamless.
Next, you’ll learn how to refine and polish the surface, or add a textured finish using hammers and specialist tools.
By the end of the session, you’ll have a finished sterling silver ring that fits beautifully and feels like it’s always been yours.
This is a relaxed, social workshop – perfect for beginners, creative souls, or anyone who loves the idea of making something meaningful by hand.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Everything you need for a relaxed, creative session is provided – all tools, materials, and tuition. Just bring yourself and your curiosity. (optional - bring scrap or old silver if you’d like to repurpose something meaningful).
